The Industry Forum of the 11th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF)--Game-Based Animated Films Section was Successfully Launched
On September 22, 2021, the 11th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF)--Game-Based Animated Films Section was launched at the State Production Base of China Film Group, which was guided by the Organizing Committee Office of the BJIFF and the Publicity Department of Beijing Huairou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, hosted by Shanghai Qianjing Cultural Media Co., Ltd., co-organized by Cultural Industry Development Promotion Center of Huairou District, and organized by Poly Pictures Investment Co., Ltd.; Cui Yan, director of Beijing International Film Festival Operation Center (BJIFF Operation Center) and Executive Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Office of the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) of Beijing Radio & Television Station, Lyu Xiaoguo, deputy director of the Publicity Department of Beijing Huairou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Yu Deli, party secretary and director of Cultural Industry Development Promotion Center of Huairou District, and Party Secretary of Party Secretary of Yangsong Town, Huairou District, Beijing, were invited to attend the forum of this section as important guests this morning.

With the theme "Youth Flashes in E-sports Era", the forum consisted of three sharing themes, one roundtable forum and seven topics, and six guests, including Song Lei, director of R&D Department of China Animation Comic Game Group, Guo Yong, founder and chairman of ChinaYear International Culture Co., Ltd., Huang Shi, Associate Professor, School of Animation and Digital Art, Communication University of China, Yu Bo, animation film producer of iQIYI Motion Pictures and producer of Master Zhong, Wang Yuxi, director of Master Zhong, and Xu Ming, chairman of Huati Gaming, discussed the tradition and future of China animation films from different dimensions in combination with the future development trend of animation and film.
 
Cui Yan, Director of the Beijing International Film Festival Operation Center (BJIFF Operation Center) and Executive Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Office of the 11th Beijing International Film Festival of Beijing Radio & Television Station, delivered an opening speech at the forum. He said that the theme of the Game-Based Animated Films Section of this year's Beijing International Film Festival symbolizes the sportsmanship of contemporary youth who never give up, strive for progress and work together. The unit set in this BJIFF is to gratitude to the practitioners who have dedicated themselves to e-sports in the past ten years, honor those who are striving by outstanding achievements, inspire more practitioners to continue to strive for the development of e-sports industry, and witness the in-depth cooperation between the two cultural industries of "film" and "e-sports”.

With the steady and rapid development of Chinese culture these years, China’s animation film industry has ushered in the spring of the industry from production capacity to market potential. However, we need to seize opportunities, avoid mistakes, and play proper roles in the process of rapid development.

Song lei said that animation creators should be good at extracting the essence and energy from the treasure house of Chinese culture, maintain a high level of confidence in their own cultural ideals and values, and provide works with more emotional resonance and humanistic care to make them become a spiritual force to inspire the Chinese people and the Chinese nation to move forward.
“Film + E-Sports” for mutual scenes and ecology
 
Xu Ming said that the current digital sports and other different content areas are undergoing subtle integration and evolution. Films and e-sports are inter-connected from content to scene, which will be presented to users in a closer way in the future, and will become the product of the era when Chinese culture goes out.
Some thoughts on China’s animation film industry
 
Wang Yuxi said that the inheritance of China’s animation film industry has a unique historical background and is a process of dialogue and integration between Chinese traditional culture and the world culture. At present, China’s animation film industry is undergoing an unprecedented heyday, and relevant market is competitive. However, as creators, we cannot forget the original intention, and shall always keep a calm mind of creation.
During the roundtable forum, five guests discussed seven topics, including "Development status of China’s animation film industry", "Relationship between traditional culture and modern animation film texts", "Industrialization of China’s animation film industry", "Construction of China’s animation film industry system", and "Reserve of Chinese animation film talents".
