Day 4: Sprint into Spring, See the World on Screen
On April 19, the 16th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) enters its fourth day, as filmmaker races, cross-dimensional revelry, and screen spectacles intertwine, bringing the springtime film capital to yet another crescendo.
As one of the most dynamic outdoor events of this year's BJIFF, the "Run for Fun" will fire the starting gun at Shijingshan's Shougang Park. Teams of runners will burst from the starting line into the morning light, embarking on a uniquely cinematic race along the course.
Screenings of films competing for the Tiantan Award continue to unfold. Embers and Crossing A Dawn greet their first audiences - the former gazing upon a Northeast China's past with a stark, unflinching lens, and the latter sketching a serendipitous one-night encounter with a light, urban touch. Directors of both films will engage in in-depth post-screening conversations with cinephiles. Meanwhile, Angel Pardalos, Becoming, The Red Lightning, and After Being Ashes - contenders in the Forward Future - will hold their premieres, inviting audiences into a dazzling world of light and shadow.
Tomorrow, the 16th BJIFF Film Carnival will simultaneously kick off in Huairou's "Film Capital". A host of film-themed interactive installations, classic scene recreations, character parades, and screening events will allow visitors and residents alike to immerse themselves in the magic of cinema amid the spring sunshine.
