The participants can choose their fellow players to play more guandan in the evening after the afternoon match.

It will be a full-on night of displaying card tricks and playing guandan!

(1) Competition Rules

The competition complies with the latest Rules of Competition on Guandan Games (Trial) approved by the Chess and Card Game Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China.

(2) Method of Competition

1. The tournament consists of three rounds of points to be held in set time and decks. Each round is up to 50 minutes. A round of guandan game is completed if the players use nine decks of cards or one team wins on Level A within 50 minutes. The referee announces that the players need to empty their hands and no more deck of cards will be used at the 45th minute. The team that wins on Level A will be announced the winner at the end of each round, otherwise the team with a higher leveling-up wins the race. The game is tied if both teams level up by the same levels.

2. The winner of each round gets two points, no points for the loser and one point each for a tie. 1.5 points are awarded to the team getting a bye in a round. A player receives 17 variance points (VP) for leveling up. The player with higher points ranks higher. If two or more players share the same score, their rank is decided by the following items in sequence: VP, direct wins, rounds won, opponent’s points and head-to-head record.

3. The player numbers are selected randomly by the computer system. A neighbor-pairing rule is applied to the first round, i.e., the No.1 player pairs with the No.2, the No.3 - the No.4, and etc. The team with smaller numbers is the home team, its players facing east-west; the other group with larger numbers is the away team, its players facing north-south. Starting from the second round, the two teams whose points are close will play against each other.

4. For the first deck of cards, the player on the east side shall shuffle five to seven times, and the player on the south shall cut the cards and pick out one from them. If the picked-out card is Joker or heart 2, the player on the south has to cut the cards again and pick out another one. Starting from the player on the south counterclockwise and based on the number on the picked-out card, the player who takes the cards first is decided by counting. The player who takes the picked-out card shall throw cards first.

5. Starting from the second deck of cards, each deck shall be shuffled thoroughly twice or thrice. The Banker shall do the shuffle and the Follower shall cut the cards, and the Dweller shall take the cards first. If a double-dweller happens, the Follower shall take the cards first.

6. If a player holds less than 10 cards after throwing a type of card, he/she has to declare how many cards are in the hands.

7. If a double-dweller happens in the last round, the two Dwellers have to make a tribute to their opponents. The Banker shall choose the high-point card, while the Follower selects the low-point card and they will both give a card to the Dwellers in return. If two same-point cards are offered, the tribute will be made in clockwise order before the two winners return a card. The two winners shall return a card facing down, and the two Dwellers shall show their returned card together. After the winners return a card, the Dweller who makes a tribute to the Banker shall play first.

8. When a round of game begins, if a player is absent, his/her team is deemed as being late for the game and the opponent shall throw a three-point card first. If one team is late for 10 minutes or more, they will be deemed as quitting the game and the other team will be awarded two points. In this case, the VP will be 17 points. 

9. A team will be disqualified if they quit two games.

(3) Foul Play and Penalties

1. Warning: A warning is given and recorded for not filling in and submitting a scoring paper timely, taking a card in the wrong order or in the wrong place, swearing and using emotional words. For a severe or repeated offender, his/her score will be deducted by one or two points.

2. Taking back the right to first throw/follow a type of card for one time: It applies to calling out or throwing cards in a wrong order, forgetting to report, repeated reporting, asking for the remaining cards held by the reporter, etc. (the reporter who holds 10 or less cards shall declare only once and must not disclose the remaining cards to his/her fellow player); if a player gets to throw cards first in a game and throws a type of card incorrectly, it will be dealt with as cards revealing (throwing more or less cards than the designated cards of a type or breaking a type of cards in several times), and the opponent (the player sitting in the left) shall decide which type of cards shall be thrown. If it happens again or it happens during the following cards, the right to first throw/follow a type of card will be taken back for one time.

3. Lose the game by default (two-dweller): A team will lose a game by default and the two players will be both deemed as Dweller if a player of the team takes more or fewer cards, does not report or reports incorrectly or finishes throwing all his/her cards before his/her fellow player. Any player of the violating team shall shuffle the next deck of cards, the player on the right shall cut the cards, the player sitting opposite shall take the cards first and the player on the left shall throw cards first.

4. For a severe violation, the team shall lose by default or even be disqualified at the referee’s sole discretion: It applies to a player who delays throwing cards on purpose and refuses to correct his/her behavior after a warning is given; if a player quit a game on purpose and it leads to another team get a bye in a round which has an implication on the competition and the scores of the team, the violator will face further disciplinary action.

Please fill in the names, ID card numbers, mobile phone numbers and working experience in the film industry of the two members on a team for entry.

2. Once the entry form is submitted, organizers will send successful entry notice via text to those entrants that pass the review; players are required to present their ID cards, and “entry numbers and mobile phone numbers” as indicated in the successful entry notice upon entering the field of play on the day of tournament. Entrants can check their status of entry via the WeChat official account of Daeyes.com.

3. The tournament receives a defined maximum number of entries on a first-come-first-served basis.

First prize (1 team): film coupons worth RMB 2,000

Second prize (1 team): film coupons worth RMB 1,500

Third prize (1 team): film coupons worth RMB 1,000

Fourth to eighth prizes (1 team per prize): film coupons worth RMB 400

1. As the name “Card Game Invitational Tournament for Filmmakers” indicates, the tournament requires that entrants have working experience in the film industry, and specify such experience in their entry forms. There is no limit of age or gender. Eligible entrants should pair themselves into teams of two members to enter the tournament.

2. Identities of players are to be checked before the start of the tournament. Following the principle of “Friendship First, Competition Second”, the tournament asks that players respect one another and judges. In case of any strike, fight, assault, cursing or other misconducts, organizers of the tournament will deal with them strictly. 

3. Players shall remain quiet during the tournament, switch their phones off or on vibrate mode, follow the order of the tournament, be careful with facilities and equipment on the field of play, and refrain themselves from smoking, littering or spitting.

4. Players should be healthy and free from any sickness that makes them unable to handle the pressure or participate in the tournament. Players shall be responsible for any injuries or sickness they get during the tournament. In case of any illness, the concerned player shall withdraw immediately.

1. Where players receive media interviews during the tournament, they are deemed to have licensed the organizers to use their portrait and video materials of those interviews free of charge.

2. The organizers reserve the final interpretation of the tournament.
