In early 2020 in Northeast China, Huang Yan, a terminally ill female cremator, mistakenly swaps the ashes of two deceased individuals. When she confesses the error, both families refuse to exchange them back, except for Yao Xue, the daughter of one of the deceased, who alone believes Huang Yan. Together, the two women embark on a frenzied and absurd quest to return the ashes to their rightful places, ultimately redefining the meaning of life as they confront death head-on.
