Synopsis

The film tells the story of two elderly intellectuals—a husband and wife—living in Saint Petersburg, Russia. They both experienced World War II as children. Now, they are lonely, as their children have moved abroad. This film is about the wisdom, optimism, calmness, patience, and forgiveness of these two elderly individuals. It portrays their love for each other and for life. These qualities are often lacking in today's world, especially among the younger generation. That is why these elderly people, along with the warmth of their home, attract those who feel cold and are in need of help and support.
