One-stop Q&As about Project Pitches Safeguard Your Movie Dreams!
In 2023, a lot of excellent movies were screened, among which One and Four, Like Father and Son, and The Cord of Life all came from the BJIFF Project Pitches. In such a light and shadow space of the BJIFF Beijing Film Market Project Pitches woven by dreams, new projects are flourishing. The winter chill has not yet dissipated, but the application for the 14th BJIFF Project Pitches has already begun. As time goes by, and the light and shadow change, only the heart waiting for a good story is always sincere.
The registration for script projects of the 14th BJIFF Project Pitches and sports projects of the Beijing International Sports Film Week will close at 12:00AM of February 23, 2024, Beijing time, and the registration for WIP projects will close at 12:00AM of March 1, 2024, Beijing time. Among the registration inquiry emails, we have summarized some frequently-asked questions and given the answers.
Is there any change about the on-site process of this year's Project Pitches?

The roadshow of Project Pitches this year will be extended for the first time, increasing from one day before to one and a half days, giving young filmmakers a chance to fully showcase their projects. Meanwhile, a market screening session will be added to WIP projects, allowing them to be better docked with the market.

What's the difference in fund support between the 14th BJIFF Project Pitches and previous years?

The 14th BJIFF Project Pitches will introduce the “Beijing Special Support Fund for Movies” for the first time. The winning projects filed in Beijing can apply for this support fund after being recommended by the BJIFF Organizing Committee, so as to help them quickly dock with the market and turn ideas into films.

In addition to the roadshow of Project Pitches, what other events of the BJIFF can project owners participate in?

Project owners can attend the Theme Forum, the Workshop & Masterclass, open classes on film performing arts and other events of the BJIFF via valid passes. This year, the “Beijing Film Night” Reception will also be hosted at the Langyuan Station. The event will invite the jury of Project Pitches, industrial guests and award-winning young filmmakers to conduct exchanges, and together witness the grand event of film industry in spring.
If I have several projects, can I apply for and submit them with the same account?

Yes, you can! The applicant who has registered one account can apply for a maximum of five projects. Register now!
How do I know if my project has been shortlisted?

Please pay close attention to the Official Website of the BJIFF after registration ends.

After the shortlisted projects are announced, the BJIFF Beijing Film Market Department will get in touch with the project owners through the “Applicant/Contact Person” information of the application form. Projects that are not confirmed within the prescribed time will be deemed as an automatic waiver of eligibility, and will be replaced by the subsequent projects. Please make sure you provide a valid email address and phone number on the application form.

Is there any fee for Project Pitches during registration and participation?

You don’t need to pay anything! As long as you bring good stories, ideas and movies, the door of the BJIFF Beijing Film Market Project Pitches will always be open to you!
