To Plant A Dream of Film in 20 Days

Today marks the 20-day countdown to the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF)!

If we compare the BJIFF to a tough vine that has been growing for fourteen years, it must have rooted in rich fertile soil, silently and smilingly, shaking hands with the spring breeze.

Then, the new generation of filmmakers arising under the call of Project Pitches of Beijing Film Market are the new greens on the vine -- the vine provides nourishment for the new greens, and the new greens revitalize the vine.

Since 2012, the Project Pitches has been held in 13 consecutive years. We have witnessed countless young filmmakers from start to success and from inexperience to mature; it has also promoted countless outstanding projects to the public beyond the BJIFF -- Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, nominated for the Camera d'Or at Festival de Cannes; Like Father and Son, winner of the Golden Rooster Award for Best Children’s Film; Wisdom Tooth, winning a harvest in Pingyao; Summer Detective, winning both market benefits and artistic reputation; The Victims, which is going to be screened on April 3 ...

For brave young creators, BJIFF is willing to provide constant groundbreaking opportunities, and listen to the pulse of dreams with infinite seriousness and earnestness.

Because we know that in every seed is hidden a whole universe.

This year, a total of 769 projects have enrolled for the Project Pitches, including 736 screenplays and 33 WIP projects.

By the time the Grain Rain arrives, the new greens will be thriving into buds again. And we are ready to listen to the heartbeat of each seed.
