13th BJIFF Short Video Section—“Culture and Civilization in Short Videos”
The much-awaited Short Video Section of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) is slated for Honor Ceremony at 7:00PM-9:00PM, April 27, 2023, 4K Studio Hall of the Communication University of China, for Excellent Short Video Screening on April 22 to May 30, 2023, for Theme Forum at 9:00AM-11:00AM, April 28, 2023, Grand Ballroom, Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center. 
With the theme of "Culture and Civilization in Short Videos", the 13th BJIFF Short Video Section aims to explore new ideas, new techniques, and new platforms in the ever-changing area of short videos. On the one hand, it encourages creators to capture the touching moments in the real life through plain cameras; on the other hand, it supports the presentation of new technologies in the fields of art, aesthetics, and social values, so as to shape a rich and three-dimensional image of China, and analyze the diversified and integrated Chinese civilization. Meanwhile, it also focuses on international cutting-edge creation of short videos to stimulate creators’ creative passion and inspire them to produce excellent short videos that are insightful, relatable, and timely.
The section includes multiple sub-sections, such as Review and Recommendation, Masterpiece Panorama, and Forum Series. The theme forum will focus on discussions of cutting-edge issues in the short video industry. Based on practical experience and academic exchanges, it will predict the way forward and trends in the development of online audiovisual media with forward-looking strategic vision, establish the industry benchmark and provide blueprints for decision-making and guidance for practice.
The 13th BJIFF Short Video Section is hosted by the Communication University of China, co-hosted by China News Service, organized by the Television School, Communication University of China, co-organized by Ecns.cn, sponsored by ChinaNews Video, Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art, China Charities Aid Foundation for Children, and Amber Rock (Beijing) Culture Communication Co., Ltd., under cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the China International New Media Short Film Festival (CSFF), the Organizing Committee of International Micro-film Festival for University Students, Bilibili, Hivideo, and Organizing Committee of K.O Short Film Competition, and with the support of iQIYI, Kuaishou, Bilibili, CMCC Migu Video, Tencent Video, and Youku.
