It has been four years since the establishment of the Game-Based Animated Films Section of the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF). From its launch in early 2020 to prosperity today, it has gradually evolved into a platform for shared prosperity and co-creation that integrates e-sports, games, animations and films. As a major event of the BJIFF, the Game-based Animated Films Section is committed to creating a professional and popular cultural feast for animations, e-sports, games and films, advancing the integration of e-sports, animations and films, and perfectly combining the interaction of games and visual effects of animations with stories of films. Besides, it aims to bring new entertainment experiences, fully display the unique charm of the integration, and promote the linkage of various industries. Through the organization of multiple activities, the section enhances the cultural attributes of benefiting and cultivating people, increases people's engagement, and encourages the public to take part in e-sports, gaming and animation activities in a healthy, positive and uplifting manner, thus significantly increasing people's engagement and satisfaction, and enriching people's spiritual and cultural life.
  
At the 13th BJIFF Game-Based Animated Films Section, related topics received 300 million plus views and more than 2.4 million discussions on the Internet. Three topics went trending. The official live streaming through Huya was watched by a total of more than 19 million netizens, with the peak of over 3 million. The data shows the strong appeal and influence of the section, and will better help the section develop into a publicity and display platform for its integrated development in the future.
  
The 14th BJIFF Game-Based Animated Films Section has been upgraded based on the success of previous sessions. The section this year is comprised of the Selection of Animated Short Films, E-Sports Celebration for Filmmakers, Ceremonies (Red Carpet, Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Party-Night of ZHAI YAO), and E-sports Carnival.
In the future, the Game-Based Animated Films Section will continue to give full play to the role of a platform, further gather new forces, and help young people who love e-sports, animations and movies better pursue their dreams. Under the mission of "telling Chinese stories and spreading China's voice", the section will promote domestic animations to the international market, and further enhance artistic and cultural confidence through a wide range of activities. Besides, these activities under the section will also be carried out in other regions of China on the basis of local featured cultural resources and development endowment, aiming to create a cultural feast with regional characteristics, enrich the spiritual life of local residents, and fully provide a cultural atmosphere with the fusion of animations, games and films. Meanwhile, the section will continue to set up the selection link. While screening the shortlisted works at the campus, it will organize the seminar, market, concert, animation costume performance, e-sports game and other forms of animation and game themed activities, in an effort to help realize the Everlasting BJIFF.
