In an era where content overflows like a tide, tens of thousands of images flood our vision every day, competing for a fleeting moment of attention. In this struggle for focus, audiences are gradually becoming numb to flashy brand advertisements, while authentic artistic expression often remains confined behind narrow doors, lacking a clear path to the public. In response, commercial art shorts have quietly forged a new path: they carry the energy of brand communication while embodying the depth of artistic reflection; they confront market realities while responding to the pulse of our times.
Jointly organized by the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), ARTnews China, and Wonderland. China, the "Art & Vision Certain Unit" serves as a dedicated stage for commercial art shorts. Since its inception, the section has remained committed to its core spirit of "Art, Fashion, Business, and Innovation", nurturing a new ecosystem and cultural wave for artistic commercial shorts. Through film screenings and cross-cultural exchanges, it offers a rich cinematic experience and profound industry insights, inviting audiences from home and abroad - along with professionals in art and fashion - to appreciate the unique charm of commercial art shorts together.
Film is poetry written through the lens. "Visionary" signifies not only the generation of ideas but also the renewal of concepts and breakthroughs in expressive structures. "New Order" represents not only a reshaping of form but also a reconstruction of value systems and industry standards. In 2026, the "Art & Vision Certain Unit" of the 16th BJIFF sets sail once again with the brand-new theme: "Visionary New Order". Taking the inner driving force of commercial art shorts as its starting point, this year's section focuses on four dimensions - Narrative, Culture, Vision, and Future. It seeks works that achieve breakthroughs in brand world-building, cultural expression, visual aesthetics, and AI/cross-media exploration, aiming to collectively reshape the expressive order and industrial benchmarks of commercial art shorts. Ultimately, 28 shortlisted works were selected from over 300 submissions for the 3rd "Art & Vision Certain Unit".
The complete shortlist for the 3rd "Art & Vision Certain Unit" is announced as follows:
