Finalists for Final Review Roadshow of the NEWHER Film Section Officially Announced! In the Company of Light and Shadow, Let's Meet at the Silver Screen
The Feature Film Support Program of the NEWHER Film Section at this Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) has received 230 meticulously crafted projects from filmmakers nationwide. The submissions demonstrate a distinct creative tendency: rooted in reality, reflective of inner worlds, and experimental across multiple dimensions. The works portray characters’ intricate dilemmas and emotional choices within family and intimate relationships, while also exploring their self-awakening and struggles for growth. They embody the courage and resilience of individuals who break free from constraints and take charge of their own lives.
This year's NEWHER Film Section will stay true to its founding vision and continue to support outstanding feature-film creation with a more sophisticated framework and a more comprehensive system. The preliminary jury comprises: Producer and agent Shen Shen; Fu Jia, General Manager of Beijing Leyi Chengbang Film; Zhang Qi, General Manager of Film Evaluation and Research Center, iQIYI; producer Sui Shanshan; and Zhang Qun, CEO and Producer of Dadi Film. Following rigorous preliminary review, 21 projects have advanced to the Final Review Roadshow, including 5 workshop projects, 15 screenplay projects, and 1 Work-in-Progress (WIP) project.
