Organized and guided by the 12th BJIFF Organizing Committee Office and the Publicity Department of Beijing Huairou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, hosted by the Beijing Huairou District Cultural Industry Development Promotion Center and Zhongxuan Cultural Media (Beijing) Co., Ltd., organized by Poly Digi-Entertainment, the 12th BJIFF—Game-Based Animated Films Section is about to be held in Flower Sea of the Film Town, Huairou from August 16 to 18, 2022.
As an important section of the BJIFF—"Film+" with unique exploratory significance and diverse features, over the past three years, the Game-Based Animated Films Section has gradually opened up a new path for the integration of e-sports, games, animation and films from inauguration to prosperity.
  ▍ Five spectacular parts
Under the theme of the 12th BJIFF—"United We Advance", with "Travel into the Future with Light and Shadow" as the core theme, this year's Game-Based Animated Films Section will further spread the knowledge of e-sports, foster positive e-sports concepts, and seek greater opportunities for the integrated development of e-sports and films. This year's section has five parts: Opening Forum, "E-Sports Celebration for Filmmakers"-Film Company Tournament & Star Tournament, E-Sports Carnival, Red Carpet & Closing Ceremony, Cocktail Party.
The Opening Forum to be held on August 17 has two sessions. At the morning session: "Game for Peace" Theme Forum on New Future of E-Sports, industrial panelists will explore more possibilities for the crossover development of e-sports in the context that e-sports has become an official event for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. With focus on the development of Chinese animated films in the past century, the afternoon session: "Rising of Chinese Animation: The Glorious Journey and Cultural Self-Confidence" will look into the rise of Chinese animation from the perspectives of modern interpretation of traditional culture, integration of Chinese aesthetics with animation and industrialization of animation techniques, and discuss the cultural self-confidence and future direction of Chinese animation.
On August 18, "E-Sports Celebration for Filmmakers"-Film Company Challenge & Star Tournament will kick off. The event has two sessions: Film Company Game for Peace Challenge and Star & Streamer Tournament. The latter will attract eight stars loving e-sports to team up with famous e-sports professionals and streamers to deliver the trendiest e-sports party through online and offline interaction.
The star-studded "Red Carpet & Closing Ceremony" and "Cocktail Party" will come after "E-Sports Celebration for Filmmakers"-Film Company Challenge & Star Tournament. Film & television professionals, teams of film companies and stars will be invited to the party.
Remarkably, the "E-Sports Carnival" has been added to this year's Game-Based Animated Films section to be compatible with the BJIFF—Film Carnival while delivering a more professional industrial event. "E-Sports for All", to be held in the form of "prize for participation" from August 16 to 18, will make the public experience the spirit of fair and open play, pass the positive energy of e-sports talents, and promote the further integration of films, games and animation.
▍ New atmosphere of film-game integration
After budding and experiencing initial integration, China's "film-game integration" is entering a more mature period of transformation. From content integration to scenario integration, e-sports and films will appear before users and audiences in a more integrated way. Many film companies with multiple industrial genes have tremendous strengths and outstanding coordination and interaction capabilities in such aspects as game development, film & television creation, animation deployment, IP reserves and industry chain resources.
The BJIFF—Game-Based Animated Films section caters to young target audiences, and makes more experience the pan-entertainment ecology of film-game integration through current pop culture. Besides it further strengthens the implementation plan for the integration of films and e-sports, and promotes the faster and steadier development of game-animation-film integration.
Amid Flower Sea of the Film Town, Huairou, in colorful events, the 12th BJIFF—Game-Based Animated Films section will become an in-depth exchange and cooperation platform for film-game integration in the new period. Let's look forward to it!
