Run For Fun, run for the future! 
On April 19, 2024, Run For Fun of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) started at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium where hundreds of filmmakers from film and television industry in 26 teams gathered to run towards the rising sun. Running around the stadium, they used every strength and vigor to interpret their love and zeal in a style of Chinese filmmakers, the essence of friendship and teamwork, and the positive attitudes of a healthy life.
  
  
  
  
Run For Fun
The field for this year’s event is relocated from Huairou District to Beijing Workers’ Stadium, which upon delicate preparation and renovation provided an ideal running site for the run and a natural backdrop with its unique charm. At 9:30AM on April 19, Mr. Yu Junsheng, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Beijing Radio & Television Station, and Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the BJIFF Organizing Committee, was present to announce the grand opening of the event. In high spirits and full of passion, all the runners showed their best state for the competition. 
Upon fierce competitions of the 26 teams, each has six runners in a row, “OT Elites Team”, “Ride the Wind Team”, and “Relax Team” were crowned the top three of the Run For Fun. “Giant Goal Team” was titled the Best Style, “Her Power Team” the Best Costume for unique dressing, “Poly Digi-Entertainment Team” the Best Tacit for excellent teamwork, and “Outlook Team” the Best Perseverance for their spirit of never giving up. 
In addition, each team player in the Run For Fun received an exclusive commemorative medal in recognition of his/her participation and dedication. The three co-founders of the event, Mr. Tang Bohui, Assistant General Manager of Poly Film Investment Co., Ltd. and Party Branch Secretary and Executive Vice General Manager of Poly Digi-Entertainment, Mr. Xu Yiding, Vice Chairman of Beijing Film Society and Chairman of KAI Pictures, and Ms. Jill Hsu, actress, singer and composer, presented the awards to the winners on site.
It is noteworthy that this was the first group running at Beijing Workers' Stadium after its renovation. Run For Fun not only brought alive a new landmark in Beijing, but also pioneered a new mode of the City Run For Fun as an upgrade of the popular City Walk against the trend of healthy life for all. The event demonstrated the vigor and passion of filmmakers and injected new vitality into the cultural and sports undertakings of Beijing.

This year's Run For Fun attracted a lot of attention from the industry, with a new record of registered applicants and a greater lineup of co-initiators, including senior filmmakers, media professionals, actors and actresses, such as San Mu, founder of the magazine Movie View, Zhu Huilong, founder of the More Joy Entertainment, Tang Bohui, Assistant General Manager of Poly Film Investment Co., Ltd. and Party Branch Secretary and Executive Vice General Manager of Poly Digi-Entertainment, Celina Jade, actress and singer; Jill Hsu, actress and singer, Tony LV, producer and founder of LV STUDIOS, and Xu Yiding, Vice Chairman of Beijing Film Society and Chairman of KAI Pictures (from left to right, in no particular order), all of whom provided their support for the event with their strength and influence, hoping to attract more Chinese filmmakers to join this amazing non-profit activity. It is worth mentioning that the co-initiator Mr. Tang Bohui formed two teams – “Poly Film Investment Team” and “Poly Digi-Entertainment Team”, which injected new vitality and passion into the Run For Fun, making the whole event even more exciting.

In addition to the co-initiators, we also invited Zhang Xincheng, a famous young actor from the Chinese mainland, as Ambassador of the Run For Fun to bring more vitality and vigor to this event with his healthy and sunny attitude and sportsman-like qualities.

More excitingly, SpongeBob and Patrick, the two well-loved animated characters, were introduced to this year's event to have joyful interactions with film fans, making the site more fervent. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, a SpongeBob-themed area was set up on site for every participant to take photos and play games, leaving great memories here. This not only added fun and delight to the whole event, but also inspired all to have a positive attitude towards life through the spirit of happiness from SpongeBob.
  
As our slogan says: "We never stop running", filmmakers are those who never stop making and creating. They run for love, long for dream, and RUN FOR FUN, steadfastly and persistently. The event is now an outdoor sports event where elites from various positions in the film and television industry share their joy of films together. This year’s Run For Run was wrapped up. Let's look forward to a new run next year!
