Beijing International Sports Film Week Returns to Partner with BJIFF to Revive Dual Olympic Dream
On April 3, the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) announced at a press conference that it will continue to team up with the Beijing International Sports Film Week. With outstanding sports films as a vehicle and bridge, both parties will contribute the efforts from both the film market and Beijing to supporting the development of Chinese sports films, inheriting the Olympic legacy, promoting the Olympic spirit, and expanding the influence of the “Dual Olympic City” and Chinese sports culture.

By promoting the spirit of double Olympics with images and gathering film strength to forge ahead, this year’s Beijing International Sports Film Week into its 19th year since its launch, hosted by the BJIFF Organizing Committee, the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC), and the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and organized by the Committee on Information of the COC and the Beijing Olympic City Development Center, will be held under the theme of “Double Olympic Dreams in Images”. Starting from April, the 19th Beijing International Sports Film Week will launch the following activities: the call for entries; screenings of excellent global sports films; salons and forums for professionals in the film and sports industries; screenings at joint exhibitions for public welfare; recommendations for the “most popular film”; the selection of the "Sports Film Project Support Fund”; the release of outstanding works and the homecoming-themed movie-watching activity for Olympic participants, and other activities. The 19th Beijing International Sports Film Week will culminate in the announcement, in August, of outstanding sports film works selected by the professional jury after the first and final rounds, which will then be representatives to compete for the 41st Sport Movies & TV-Milano International FICTS FEST-World Championship Final.

  Still of Beijing 2022
In addition, Beijing 2022, the official film of the Beijing Winter Olympics, will be one of the films screened at the 19th Beijing International Sports Film Week. On top of that, the event will further integrate with the Beijing Film Market and “Film+” sections of the BJIFF by launching outdoor film screening and promotional activities at Langyuan Station and setting up a sports exhibition area to drive sports consumption.
